I pick up any catholic book that is per vatican and or appears to be from Tan books to catechisms, Douay Rheim commentaries, children's catholic books, readers, math and english. I started in 1997 and pick up books from estate sales, thrift stores and I was glad that I did it. I know that I am using a lot of "I"'s because in my family at that time, they thought it maddening. Now, in 2012, they are looking for good books and come to me and say, Ma, do you have this book? I am glad that I did this because I felt God was telling me, do it, because one day you will not be able to get your hands on a good catholic book. I must also say, I don't use a library card anymore and haven't in maybe 15 years. Besides, the libraries have gone to the left and what books they sold years ago, IF they were good, I bought them for 50 cents. I went to one estate sale and found out it was one of our traditional parishioners of years ago and I got there on the last day of the sale and to my astonishment, the library was nothing but Catholic and it was hardly touched and I bought the whole lot at 50 cents a book, mainly Tan books. I was in my joy! There was over 100 books! I have list that I keep and any overage I give to family.
