Hobble beat me to it. I was going to post that passage from Fr. Garrigou Lagrange O.P. on Protestantism and the naturalism that is leads to and is a result off. In fact, expanding on that point, Protestantism is very much indebted to the naturalism and erroneous secularity of the late Renaissance.

We also cannot forget Luther's "be a sinner and sin boldly" line.
