I just noticed the red cowboy hat picture of B16, and forgive me for saying so, but it frightens me. I am not alone, it creeps out my boys. But not as badly as the Christmas photo with the Grinchy thing.
Is this headpiece even remotely related to the Holy See? Does he wear it often, or was it a photo-op?

I mourn for the grandeur and majesty of the Holy Father once upon a time.

Yes, see this has been bugging me as well. My 12 year old said the pope was wearing a ladies red hat like the ladies of the red hat society. Some say popes of tradition wore them as well, but, since we have had no tradition in over 40 years, there are other places to start bring things back. Ladies, thank God it was not pink or lavendar :wine-drinking:These new chruch goofs will drive ya to drink if your not careful.

I know about a type of hat that's red, from old paintings. This in no way resembles what I have seen-I would have to research to use the right word for this.
Too sad about ditching the Papal Tiara. Then you'd have known who was in charge of Christ's Church.

I agree this was simply too feminine. I tell you if Pius X saw him and his outfits he would denounce him for what he is.
Curious, when Benedict first took office, there was such a hubbub becasuse his "gal Friday" was moving in to the Vatican. She looks for like one of the modern combat nuns, but everyone thought it inappropriate because these two are together too often. Does anyone remember this? She must be there still. And, I guess we should be happy the scandal is with a women. That does not happen too often with these absconders of the Vatican.

Drat, I know that there is some woman who has been his close aid for some long time. Now, people thought that strange, however, as I said the picture of her was like these new modernist 60-something nuns, could be she plays on the wrong team. WHERE THE BLAZES DID I READ ALL OF THAT
