  • If a woman argues like that over things that don't really matter in our day-to-day lives, then expect to have some real 'knock-down-drag-outs' over finances, childrearing, in-laws, and draperies. Just sayin...
Well why do you think I said I can't deal with this sort of person😀

  • Whatever vocation you decide to pursue Banezian, be counter-revolutionary and do not listen to the modern ultra-egalitarian world, otherwise you will end up like this, no doubt:

This is the new "normal" for most people, men and women alike, until they die.
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

Exactly what I was thinking! Any female with such strong opinions on things that barely affect their day-to-day would not do well with the submission aspect of marriage.

  • I think that it is easier if the husband is older so that for him to lead is more natural to both husband and wife.

I married late (just 27) which I do regret a little but I had to meet the right man and we both needed to be ready for marriage and children.

Ideally I think 22-24 is a good age for a woman to marry. There is nothing like marriage to a strong Catholic husband and motherhood to undo the damage that feminist influence does.

  • I agree with Banezisn on  N.O./NeoCon girls: avoid them like the plague.

There are none so hostile to the true faith and the TLM as Nervous Disordo girls.

Find a nice Traditional girl only. Marriage is too hard to find one who is practicing a different religion than you.

  • I don't think the woman should be more than 2-3 years older or the man more than 5-10 years older.

Being the same age is the ideal.

So much for the Holy Family then. St. Joseph was at least in his thirties while the BVM was 14. Some Fathers of the Church reckon he was an elderly man.

I don't think we can claim we know better as a society.

  • Yeah, the whole Adam & Eve thing sure means God is really dumb, eh?

He should have let Adam sit around alone until he was at least 60 before made Eve.

    /sarcasm

Being the same age is the IDEAL.

That is how God MADE it.

Actually, thats completely wrong. A bigger age difference such as in the Holy Family is the ideal.

the near age thing is a concession because most men can't bear to be chaste for so long.

I'd rather stick with the Holy Family as my example than Adam and Eve.

In this day and age with so many pedophiles?
    No way.
We don't KNOW why God chose St. Joseph for Our Lady.  Perhaps she needed someone older, wiser, more level headed, with stronger faith, and who would not run away when he found her to be pregnant.

  • God's plan is perfect.

He made them the same age so they could procreate,  the primary purpose of marriage.

It is not ideal to have a 30 year old wife with 6 kids alone and widowed by a 50 year old husband who drops dead of a heart attack,  depriving the kids a father.

  • To be fair you can't exactly plan assuming someone is going to drop dead at age 50. It could just as easily happen at age 30.

  • God's plan is perfect. Agreed

He made them the same age so they could procreate,
No, the age at which male and female are fertile differs vastly from each other. The female is fertile from early teenage,  the male marginally later teenage. But women are not fertile beyond menopause, around 45, while the man can still produce offspring up to the mid 60's and beyond. There's a 20 year gap between the two.

It is not ideal to have a 30 year old wife with 6 kids alone and widowed by a 50 year old husband who drops dead of a heart attack,  depriving the kids a father.
    noOneImportant got it right.
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,

In case you haven't noticed, Our Lady was a perpetual virgin. It was not an ordinary marriage by any means. We know that she must've decided to remain a perpetual virgin before they even got married or else they would've consummated the marriage on the wedding night(or shortly thereafter), long before she first dreamt of bearing Christ. So it's clear that their marriage was never intended to be an ordinary marriage, as procreation was never part of it.
Also we don't know for sure either of their ages.

  • I think the ideal age for marriage (outside of time and society) is a fourteen year old young woman and a twenty-four year old man or something close to that.
