  • Last night I had this dream where my guardian angel appeared to me.
I got the impression that he was a psychopathic killer but weirdly steeped in philosophy that restrained him.
He saith unto me "You must listen to the priest"
and later he saved me from some situation that I cant remember, I think there was beasts trying to get to me and I was removed from their presence.

Now this puzzels me. For I doubt the validity of the novus ordo priests who are the only priests near me. But one of them who does the novus ordo mass is very old, and is probably ordained in the tridentine rite, and I can make confessions to him, which I need to do again.

Is this the priest I am supposed to listen to?

  • Don't put that much stock in it.  Use the normal means of discerning God's will, like prayer and fasting.  He isn't normally going to make His will known through dreams.
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

This dream reflects what was on your mind during the day.  It's not from God.  It's not from the devil.  As we say in NY, "Fuggedaboudit"
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • Some dreams come from God, some come from demons and some are just normal dreams. I don't know how you can tell which is which.
    R.I.P.
Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • If a dream is of supernatural origin, from God or devil, one will desire to keep it private.  Putting it on line pretty much shows it's just a weird dream.
