I don't know what that has to do with anything, but I would never reveal my real name on the internet. Not that I don't trust the person who's asking me, but rather who may be reading. Especially with people like GoogleBot and Yahoo! Slurp always lurking.

FWIW I can & do respect your choice, but believe me those who want to know will know; GoogleBot etc., are the least of our worries.

Hiding names changes nothing that is going on. In fact, I used to share the same view many years ago, but no more. I just try - as best a possible - to 'Fear none but God'!

But still, if we are really wanting certain people to be open, I think it's best to lead by example. As I said on the 'Removing all doubt' thread, it's not too difficult to avoid suspicion and even convince a reasonable person of your identity. I attempted to offer my example on that thread, and thus asked if Nonno (or Cekada as some believe) could do the same. If not then it does, naturally, create a little suspicion, whether justified or not.

    God bless,

    Craig

  • I agree, and feel if I want to demand someone tell me who they are, I must be willing to post my full name on the Internet as well.

Perhaps a private email might be a better choice if there really is a need to know.

That is just my take on this.

    Please pray for my soul.

  • There is a need to know because this individual has been banned several times under several different internet names. There is a rule against signing up under multiple names to post after a person has been banned. I am bringing this to posters attention so that Matthew can look at this person's pos6st and decide for himself if this is one of the multiple "Father Cekada's".

It seems to me that a PM to Matthew is a more appropriate way to deal with your suspicion.

  • There is no doubt a similarity between the posts from Nonno and Bazz.

As far as revealing stuff on the internet, I just don't want my name out there. There are several people here who don't like revealing alot about their personal life except for their views on religion and politics, and I'm one of them. I have nothing to hide. I just don't like letting the world know everything about me.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • My question...

I wasn't around here much when Bazz was a member (or perhaps just didn't feel like reading through that stuff). Did someone establish with certainty that Bazz = Fr. C, or was this just the opinion of the majority?

  • I believe he got caught in a corner with respect to some questions about himself that he refused to answer.  Matthew told him to answer them or be banned.

Sorry this is a little vague, Mater, but I am sure Matthew remembers better than I.

Did he say that an anonymous person was coming to the church picnic with an AK47?

:laugh2:  No, he certainly did not.

For those who do not know, the rumor was spread that I was going to go postal and use my AK-47, a gun which I did not own and have never owned, to take out the people of sgg.org/cult.

I only learned about some of these wild lies much later, but I believe the first fear-mongering story involved my possibly going wacko at Midnight Mass on 12/24/08, which is the day I sent the initial email.  Other lies followed and the bit about the parish picnic was in late September 2009 (the Ode to Reality had been released in early July).  Having learned that I had just come into town, the VoV quickly spread the idea that I intended to come to the parish picnic and get my kicks by means of a little premeditated mass murder.

Bazz was on another thread when he was given 5 minutes to answer a question, and missed it, so he was banned.

I was never convinced it was Fr. C, and I have asked many times how people "know" the identities of posters they dislike.  I have never received a good answer.

    I'm glad you asked, Mater.

I thought Bazz was several people posting under one account. AJC was one of them. There are certain styles in posting and Fr. Cekada and Bp. Sanborn have written much and it is all public. Certain phrases are used, etc.

If I was banned from here and came back, you'd see it in my posts.
It would be comparatively easy for us to be holy if only we could always see the character of our neighbours either in soft shade or with the kindly deceits of moonlight upon them. Of course, we are not to grow blind to evil

  • PFT,

While I agree that it is, in a way, wildly funny, that is only the tip of the iceberg where the assassination of my character is concerned.  No, I do not lose sleep over it, but it is good for people to get it through their heads that the Vipers of Vaudeville are NOT decent men -- and their slimy influence affects much more than just a little section of Ohio.

This is only your little opinion. Is your style so distinctive and unique?  In writing, art and music there are always those who imitate the styles of others.  Always.  We can't see actual handwriting on our computer screens...but even handwriting is forged.

My opinion is that Bazz never displayed the type of wit and satire Fr. C is famous for, and is seemingly incapable of suppressing.  But that is only my opinion-I have no way of knowing the facts.

And I have no idea at all why the adversaries of Fr. C would want him banned, and thus lose the golden opportunity to battle for Truth and Justice, face-to-face as it were.

  • Bazz I believe is a name with a connection of some sort to Cedaka's name. I forgot exactly what that connection is, but it was definitely Father Cedaka. Nonno posts with the exact same posting style as Bazz did. He underlines certain words and puts others in quotations. He was also sticking up for Father C in the Crisis section. He's definitely Father C. And even if he's not, he probably still needs to be banned because he's clearly a Cedaka follower.

I agree completely.  Let him come on the site, openly or anonymously.  Everything he touches turns to dung at this point and he is constitutionally incapable of keeping his mouth shut (yes, I know I am rather loquacious, too).  He is undoing himself; let him carry on...by whatever means he thinks are best...
