The Feast of a great saint: July 6

She suffered her agony today (July 5) 111 years ago.

I would not hold my breath on St. Mary's waking up.  It will be as in the time of Henry VIII.  The large majority will "go with the flow."  Those who don't will be marginalized, ostracized, and will probably have to leave if they are in any way dependent upon the SSPX structure for income, schooling, housing. Many will stay because they are stuck--dependent upon others, no place to go, no means of going.  Be very careful before passing judgment.

St. Maria Goretti was God's gift to modern man at the dawn of
the age of impurity-gone-rampant.  She brought down enormous
graces to us all.  Following closely on her heels was World War I
and then the great patroness of purity Bl. Jacinta of Fatima.  

The only reason she has not been canonized as well is because
of the associated Third Secret of Fatima which the present
regime endeavors to keep under wraps, thus her sainthood is
delayed, poor child!  She hasn't suffered enough, apparently.

Between these two young girls the blessings we have received
can hardly be measured.  One might pause to consider how much
worse our age of impurity would have been had it not been for
these holy children.

St. Maria Goretti is the first saint in the history of the Church
whose canonization ceremony was attended by:

~  her own mother

~  the man who murdered her, and whom she forgave

~  these two, mother and repentant killer, sitting side by side.
