I just saw that About.com is running a poll for best Catholic paper of 2013.

There are 4 finalists but only two have a shot at winning. The Remnant vs. EWTN owned and operated Neo-Catholic NCR.

I know many of you prefer CFN, but they aren't in it.

Between the Remnant and NCR, Remnant is vastly superior.

You can vote once a day until March 19th.

I say we try to pull off the upset and make the Neo-Caths go crazy seeing a Trad newspaper win.

The race is tight.

Vote here: http://catholicism.about.com/library/bl-readers-choice-awards-best-catholic-newspaper.htm

Thanks.

  • After The Remnant basically promoted Hanukkah and had several articles slamming the Resistance, I'm afraid I can't vote for it. It may be better than the NCR, but it's still a joke of a so-called "Traditional" newspaper. I refuse to vote for it.

I hope they win over NCR, but a newspaper that sells out on Tradition and panders to the neo-Trads won't get my vote.

  • Gee, no votes for the National Catholic Reporter?

  • Here's the pro-Hanukkah article I mentioned:

That is NOT Traditional Catholicism. Just isn't.

  • The only Catholic newspaper I subscribe to today is The Four Marks.

I'm not sure the National Catholic Register has ever been Catholic and I did not know it was owned by EWTN.

The Remnant and Catholic Family News both went overboard with the election of Cardinal Ratzinger.  Both papers seemed to think he was a great friend of tradition and even refused to accept the facts when it became evident that he is not.

I don't think it's fair to say that about Catholic Family News.  The Remnant is clearly cheerleading conciliarization.

  • I don't think CFN was ever that crazy about Benedict.

The Remnant, however, seems to think he's an improvement.

Firstly, who is the "we" you refer to.
Secondly, what is the name of the "Trad newspaper" that will upset the Neo-Caths?

TK, if you can, get a copy of Chris Ferrara's "EWTN: A Network Gone Wrong."  It is a classic post mortem on how the network ended up as a shill for Brave New Church's ecuмaniacal revolution at the hands of ex-prot-turned-neo-con-Catholic entrepreneurs.

I can assure you, CFN stood alone in 2005 and since as a clear warning to the Trad movement of Benedict's unorthodox philosophical and theological musings.

The Remnant is by no means a "Trad" newspaper.

  • Unfortunately, CFN & 4 Marks are not in the running.

It's either the Remnant or Neo-Catholic Register.

Just to give you an idea, Mark Shea writes for the Neo-Catholic Register.

    This is a no-brainer.

Currently the race has tightened and CAF is voting en masse for NCR.

If the Remnant wins, the Neo-Caths will be shocked.

Still time to vote once a day till March 19th!
