Edit:  It looks like someone at the USCCB found some dirt on  Micheal Voris's organization.  Earlier, Voris was banned from World Youth Day festivities, but you'd think they had bigger fish to fry considering the usual goings on there.  On one level it's administrative relating to his tax-exempt status, and on the other it's the online activities of one of his staff members.  You'd think Catholic Answers has similar problems, and I have it on good authority they do.  At least Voris doesn't act as an apologist for Cardinal Bernardin or post homo-erotic art on his blog.  These celebrities are kind of challenging. It's best not to put your trust in them.

Expect the usual suspects to come crawling out on this one, including those who are "gαy friendly".  The site linked features an article about gαy Pride.  There are no surprises there.

Denver, Colo., Aug 17, 2011 / 06:12 pm (CNA).- Michael Voris, the founder and host of RealCatholicTV, says he was completely unaware of recently discovered troubles within his organization, involving a staff apologist's sɛҳuąƖly explicit writings, and his nonprofit corporation's loss of legal status two years ago.

“I don't know what the issue is on any of this stuff,” said Voris, who is currently in Spain promoting his unofficial “No Bull in Madrid” meetings during World Youth Day.

Voris told CNA on August 16 that he had “no idea” his nonprofit corporation St. Michael's Media had been automatically dissolved in 2009 after failing to file records with the state for two years. An official at the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs confirmed on August 10 that Voris' nonprofit was “no longer registered and in good standing with the State of Michigan.”

  • That's entirely his fault. What's sad about Voris is how he'll point his fingers in any direction - with regards to the problems in the Church - except in the direction of Vatican II. He'll blame "liberal bishops", "wayward priests", "corrupt clergy", etc, etc. He doesn't seem to think for a moment that Vatican II could be the problem. He doesn't think that the VII "popes" going to Assisi could be problematic. How ridiculous.

Problems will never be solved if you can't figure out where they're coming from. Liberal clergy did not just magically come out of nowhere.
For those who I have unjustly offended, please forgive me. Please disregard my posts where I lacked charity and you will see that I am actually a very nice person. Disregard my opinions on "NFP", "Baptism of Desire/Blood" and the changes made to the sacra

Are you criticizing him for identifying the problems he does identify or are you merely unhappy with him because he doesn't seem to agree with you completely?

Neither of the 2 things you've proposed. I am lamenting the fact that he has the aptitude to criticize and recognize the problems of liberal, apostate bishops, but cannot seem to find out what the cause of the vast majority of problems in the Church is.

  • Indeed.  Anyone not welcome at that travesty in Spain has at least done something right.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

  • I like Michael Voris a lot, except for the marked trend toward Pope-worship he's developed in the last couple of months. I recall with fondness the blistering tirade he delivered against the "Faith Shared" program, at which a Muslim Imam would have been given permission to read from the Koran at a Sunday Novus Ordo Mass. If I recall correctly, the local Ordinary found out about it and the plan was scrubbed.

But I also remember thinking, why doesn't he ever turn his ire toward the one man without whose example and permissiveness such problems would likely not have arisen in the first place, i.e. John Paul II? However, the minute he crossed that Rubicon, he would certainly experience such an assault from the Conciliar establishment that it would drive him and his media apparatus into fringe territory. I want Michael Voris to speak the whole truth, but I don't want him ending up as Dimond Brothers Lite. He'll come around eventually, when Providence affords him the opportunity to pull up the tares without ruining the wheat. At least I'm hoping so.

  • Two words:

    Gate --

    and

    Keeper.

Not saying he's doing it deliberately.  Nor does it matter if he is or not.  That is how he is being used, and that is the effect that he has.

Nobody's perfect in that we're all sinners, but there are oodles of people on the Internet, no-namers, who know far more about what's going on than Voris, who prances around on TV and says often ridiculous things ( ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs are more special to God because of their special struggles ).  So I'm not exactly sure why I should care.

When did people start accommodating themselves to those who tell 90% of the truth, or 75% of the truth, as if this were sufficient?  Why does everyone want to follow these anti-Augustines, these semi-traditional pundits?

There is something inbred in Americans where they want to adulate and adore things they see on TV.  It's really getting on my last nerve.  They have to have tinpot heroes.  No wonder they were so easy to manipulate for so long.

  • Over Voris, yeah.  That also goes for most of the people on this site.  I'd sooner follow Catholic Samurai than Voris.

  • The point, Mr. Baker, is that Voris' sensus Catholicus is what you might call undernourished.

I chose Catholic Samurai in my example since he is young and a tad immature... Yet he is miles ahead of Voris.  The people I routinely talk to on Facebook and this site are miles ahead of Voris.  So why do I need to watch Voris?  Because he's on the Tee Vee?

Voris isn't technically on TV. He's on E-TV. (Internet Television).
