  • I have heard that there have been 3 Councils that have been voided but I cannot find any information online about which ones they were.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?  I'm not a great researcher and am probably just not using the proper terms.

    Thanks,
    Marsha

  • I know some of the eastern councils were declared null and void because they were convened without the authority of the Pope. They were called by heretical bishops, and later overturned. Can't remember which ones, at the moment.

  • Try Synod of Pistoia ........... Auctorem Fidei

and the Robber Council of Ephesus (Latrocinium) for starters.

Don't remember a third one by name.
