    Quote
Bishop Oliver Dashe Doeme says he is being driven by a God-given mandate to lead others in praying the rosary until the extremist group disappears.

“Towards the end of last year I was in my chapel before the Blessed Sacrament… praying the rosary, and then suddenly the Lord appeared,” Bishop Dashe told CNA April 18.

In the vision, the prelate said, Jesus didn’t say anything at first, but extended a sword toward him, and he in turn reached out for it.

“As soon as I received the sword, it turned into a rosary,” the bishop said, adding that Jesus then told him three times: “Boko Haram is gone.”

“I didn’t need any prophet to give me the explanation,” he said. “It was clear that with the rosary we would be able to expel Boko Haram.”

  • Now reported just today:

    http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/28/africa/nigerian-troops-rescue-women-girls/index.html

    Quote
Nigerian troops rescued 200 girls and 93 women Tuesday in the Sambisa Forest, the Nigerian Armed Forces announced on its official Twitter account.

The armed forces could not immediately confirm if any of the rescued girls were among the 200 schoolgirls the militant group Boko Haram kidnapped in April 2014 from the northeastern Nigerian village of Chibok. That abduction led to a social media movement, #BringBackOurGirls, to rescue them.

Nigerian troops also captured and destroyed three terrorist camps, the armed forces said.

  • If Francis had any faith, he would order the entire Church to begin a Rosary Crusade against the ISIS Muslims as well.

He'll probably ask for everyone to pray it on Thursdays....

Kano, Nigeria (CNN)Nigerian troops rescued an additional 160 women and children from Boko Haram days after they found hundreds of other hostages, the military said Thursday.

"We are still working to verify the actual number of the rescued hostages, but I can say they include around 60 women and 100 children," said army spokesman Sani Usman.

A female hostage and a soldier were killed during the rescue operation at Sambisa Forest, where the Islamist extremists operate from.

Troops are moving into other parts of the forest and have destroyed nine militant camps, the spokesman said.

Looks as if this may very well have been a legitimate vision.

  • He reported it BEFORE all these recent developments, and about a week later several hundred prisoners have been released and 9 Boko Haram camps wiped out by the troops.

  • I'm glad the troops routed the thugs but let's take a wait and see approach before thinking an apparition is authentic.

Let's see if now Nigeria starts banning abortion and birth control and encouraging pagans to enter the Catholic Church.

  • Sr. Lucy said that Our Lady had attached new efficacy to the Rosary in these times and that there was no problem, no matter what, that could not be solved with praying the Rosary.

    The Rosary is our sword.

But the vision said nothing of this, only that Boko Haram would be destroyed by the Rosary.

Looks like I am disagreeing with myself ---   :stare:

An apparition can grant graces for a specific event such as what happened in Nigeria.

Exactly my feeling.  It doesn't have to have ANY broader implications.  If Protestants said the Rosary, then God would most likely bring them certain graces they requested as a result, for no other reason than to honor Our Blessed Mother and the Holy Rosary, Our Lady's promise that there's no problem that cannot be solved by the Rosary; I believe that Our Lady would keep her word even if those who pray are themselves unworthy.

  • Whether or not the Nigerian Catholics are good, orthodox, practicing Catholics or not means little.  Does it not bring glory to God and honor to Our Blessed Mother to demonstrate how the Rosary can destroy Boko Haram like they weren't even there?  For all of Boko Haram's bluster, God can swat them away like flies and promises to do so in response to the Holy Rosary.  And He could eliminate ISIS just as easily, in a matter of seconds, were more people to pray the Rosary for that intention.
