The commercial was actually telling men to be men, and protect weaker people.
Now everyone is like “oh my gosh! How could they tell us to step in when we see someone in danger?”
If you see someone being bullied. Stop it.
If you see a man being aggressive towards a woman (I don’t care what you think she is.) Stop it.
Why is everyone so upset about it...? Because they used the term toxins masculinity? Well that behavior is toxic. They for once used that term in the correct format, and everyone is still offended.
Couple problems with it. First of all toxic masculinity is basically the left's equivalent of a dog whistle. It's their way of saying "all masculinity is toxic" without blatantly saying it in a way that'd cause a huge backlash. It's similar to how feminists like to imply that traditional women are "brainwashed" by their husbands or that femininity was forced by the patriarchy, it's their way of telling feminine women to stop being feminine in a way that avoids directly attacking them, to again prevent a backlash.
Secondly, it's just plain condescending. Men have always been weak, evil and nasty creatures who are only now becoming decent people because feminists are telling them how to be. It's basically saying "Shut up white man and do what The Young Turks tell you to do or you're toxic".
Thirdly, the #MeToo movement being about sɛҳuąƖ harassment is another lie. The #MeToo movement started when women who whored themselves out to Harvey Weinstein so he'd give them roles later turned on him. Think about it, they went to his apartment alone with him, said they consented because apparently they felt "pressured", got their roles in return for it, became famous, and then DECADES LATER(after appearing with him many times on TV, praising him in interviews, doing nothing to stop this apparent rapist hurting other women) when they no longer needed him they come out and say this nonsense. It's clear that Weinstein is a scuмmy pervert piece of shit, but it's also clear those women traded sex for roles and then regretted years later after they already became famous.
And then following on from the "movement" that that started, we were all told we must always believe women who claim they were sɛҳuąƖly harassed even with 0 evidence. They nearly stopped Kavanaugh's appointment based on an account with no evidence, no corroborating witnesses, and multiple proven falsehoods. And yet we were all told we were evil for not accepting it without question. That was the point of the #MeToo movement, so they could turn sɛҳuąƖ assault accusations into a way to shut down people they didn't like with no trial. Guilty until proven innocent(and even then still probably guilty).
Fourthly, it portrayed ordinary horseplay as being toxic. The bullying and harassment in the video I understand, horseplay between kids is in no way toxic. That again is an example of them trying to turn men into low T softies. The scene I mean is the one at the barbecue, where both kids are clearly laughing and enjoying themselves. And yet that's "toxic masculinity"?
Fifthly, it portrayed a man saying "Hi" to a woman as sɛҳuąƖ harassment later on in the video. Which is just ridiculous. Women get away with groping men yet if a man says hello to a woman we're now meant to crucify him?
And finally those scenes of dozens of boys chasing one kid to beat him is such a ridiculous and unrealistic fantasy scenario designed to just make men look like natural savages who women(preferably feminists) need to tame.
So at the end of the day, what was good about the ad? The one or two seconds where they tell you not to sɛҳuąƖly harass women or bully people, except the issue there is that anyone doing either of those things is not just some misguided soul who hasn't seen the right Gilette ad to tell him how to be a good person yet. They won't stop because of some ad. So it's just useless at stopping them and condescending to the rest of us.
