  • Watch this clip! It's short.

It's a warning for US about our own future!

I never saw this movie -- it sure seems to be a truth-teller, though the truth probably went over the heads of most people.

  • It looks good BUT when you look further into it, it seems to have an unsavory agenda.

    I found this on IMDB.com:

    Quote

    Sex & Nudity
    EditHistory

There are a few brief shots of showgirls who appear to be wearing thongs.

A group of men attack a woman, and its implied that they plan to rape her

We see a very brief shot of a woman getting dressed.

Two woman share a passionate kiss, and its implied they are lesbians.

There are a few pictures that show ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ sex scenes (they are shown very briefly, and you don't get to really see them as they are off in the background).

A Bishop is a pedophile who loves to "play games" with children.

It's not one I'd like my younger brothers to watch, due to these scenes. I gave it a miss myself.

  • Just to add: I'm not rubbishing the fact that it probably tells some very pertinent truths, Chant. Just warning you in advance about the possible iffy content :)

  • I didn't know there was that kind of content in the movie. Thanks for letting us know.

Maybe it's best to just watch the "speech" I posted.

  • Thanks for the warning. I do want to see this, however probably never will because there is always someone else in the room I am by the t.v.
Chant , you are correct. I want to see this movie simply because it is so telling of what is coming. The way the news sounds today I will actually live the movie before I see it. Is there a book to read?

There is a comic book but I never read it so I dont know if its better than the movie. All I know is that V's costume in the movie is alot cooler than the one he has in the comic.

I bought the DVD of V for Vendetta once... I just loved it, (except for those scenes which Adesto listed above, which is why I returned it), because of V's anti-socialist philosophy and his one man war against the goverment and how he starts a revolution among the citizens of London against the neo-con state.

They really need to come out with an amended or edited version of the movie... if they did I think more people would be able to enjoy and appreciate it.

  • Two good futuristic distopias are Farenheit 451 and Equilibrium. The former was a '70s flick, the latter only a few years old and starring Christian Bale. Equilibrium draws some thematic elements from F451 and 1984 but is an excellent film in its own right.

  • Equilibrium is the best science fiction movie to come out in the last 20 years!

    I agree!

Much better than I, Robot or that dreadful Minority Report, both of which were decent books and could have been great films, given the right director/actors.

Are you British, btw? Just asking because of your "flag."

  • No, I don't know why I have a british flag. I must have done something by accident. The movie I would say that comes in as second best scifi in 20 years would be Pitch Black. I give it a second but equlibrium is leagues ahead.
