You know, in observing the Arab uprising and the west trying to shove democracy down everyone's throats to establish faithful despots facilitate democracy for the sake of peace, I cannot help but be skeptical of this whole democracy craze.

Time and time again, the Muslims have shown that they could care less about democracy. That's why every time they have anything close to a democracy it always somehow reverts back into an Islamic theocracy. That is what happened with Iran, is it not? (The Shah did good things for Iran and let non-Muslims practice their faith. Now Iran is a theocracy and non-Muslims are systematically persecuted. The West internationally crucified him for every conceivable reason under the sun and now Iran is an enemy to the west. Great.)

Don't kid yourselves. Muslims LOVE to live under oppressive rule. They do not WANT democracy. They want Shariah law.





Liberals in general (that includes neo-Catholics) need to stop falling for this "religion of peace" rhetoric that says all Muslims love western type politics. Just because *not all* Muslims want to kill and subdue all non-Muslims, does not mean that there isn't a sizable amount that does want to do that (and worse).

The current uprising is not about democracy. It's about armed terrorist groups exploiting the foolishness of the west so that they can grab for power.
