  • Super!!!!!  I love the S. African coal mining photo; it is so painterly.

Maybe not the artist's intention, but a good reminder of how little we should think of ourselves.

  • Very nice indeed.

There's also Castle Neuschwanstein, which is lovely.
Built by the last catholic King of Bayern in Southern Germany, who resisted the Prussian protestant anti-catholic Bismark "Reich" for a certain time.
When Bayern felt, also the remaining catholic South of Germany got absorbed by the Bismark "Reich".
King Ludwig got declared "under disability", imprisoned, and "drowned" on 10th March 1864 in the lake Starnberger See next to his prison, although he's been a good swimmer. Many serious sources state he's been murdered.

Well then, all you holy Kings and Emperors in Heaven, pray for us!

  • Interesting how the de-nαzιfication process did not undue the centralization of Germany.....hmm.. :scratchchin: :smirk:

Too bad, to, the Dolfuss did not get to act on a vision he had, to unite Austriaand Bavaria into a Germanic Catholic nation...even talk of returning the Habsburgs....

Because the Allies were as bad as the National-Socialists (NSDAP). Basically the same anti-catholic bunch.
(By the way, the word "nαzι" is another Jєωιѕн invention many years after the war. To hide a little bit the fact that the NSDAP were national socialists, i.e. communists.)

IMO this will be one thing which could happen after a World War III: an union of the Germanic or pro Germanic (like Ungary) countries with catholic kings and one emperor crowned by a (then) real pope in the wonderful cathedral of Köln (Cologne).
We'll have to wait and see.

Already today there's several countries which were part of the Sacrum Romanum Imperium and would like to unite in one community.
However, first the people have to regain their catholicism so that this community can be a catholic one, better a catholic empire.

When you look at the last 50 years, we see that the people don't want to regain their catholicism voluntary. Now if we look back at history which always is "salvation history" (correct word?) meaning God is in control of it, we see that if God's chosen people (the catholics since Golgotha) don't act decently for a certain time, God will "help" them by some scourges. For example German Luther 1517 -> Thirty Years' War, Britains apostate King Henry VIII, etc.)

Well, I am sorry for having hijacked the thread!

P.S. In my above posting I meant "When Bayern fell" not "... felt" ... Sorry.
