Gobbi is a nice enough fellow but he was told by the Vatican long ago to put a sock in it. He appeared during the heyday of the Medjugoogoo fiasco and Mother Angelica fell for the whole scam - hook, line and sinker. I do not think Gobbi was malicious (like the Medjugoogoos) but simply "misled".
To spare you my usual anti-"Seer" warnings, suffice it to say that the ONLY "visions" approved by the Catholic Church (and we are speaking here of formal approbation for pious belief, favorably recommended and openly and freely commented upon Church authorities, not a lone bishop or theologian or a next door neighbor) are already well recognized and should be adhered to exclusively.
Visions, locutions, "signals", etc. from the Great Beyond are a minefield and, to be blunt, even the Vatican can't keep up with the explosion of meatheads, cranks and dingbats claiming to receive special messages.
For the record, and this is only my personal summation: everything in the 20th Century, since Fatima and Banneaux and Beaurang, Belgium is most likely or with absolute certainty false, bogus and NOT genuine.
I would, however, always recommend pious biographies of St. Pius of Pietrelcina (Padre Pio), Fr. Solanus Casey, etc. These are usually very solid and orthodox, unlike so many "fantastic" stories the "Apparition, Inc." industry cranks out every year.
