  • I have read about climate change, extensively.  It is highly unlikely that the World will face massive flooding in the next five to ten years.  Not impossible, but very, very unlikely.  The only plausible scenario would be a short-term, temporary "runaway" greenhouse effect due to a large release of methane into the atmosphere, which could raise planet-wide temperatures from the current 15.5 (or so) degrees Celsius up to 20 to 22 degrees Celsius.  Melting all the ice in World could raise sea levels by over 100 meters.

  • If Mathew is correct and I am still alive in 2010, then I am toast as I live on the coast of NC. My family lives here and I am established here. I cannot just up and move in this ever worsening economy and nor would I want to. I think when it comes down to it I would like to die surrounded by my family and not hiding in some mountain somewhere amongst strangers. Who is to say God will not put mountains under the sea and raise up sea beds to become new mountains?

  • I see everyone is ignoring my caveat that this would be a man-made disaster and not the result of "climate change."  I know I go pretty far but I have an uncomfortable habit of being right much of the time.

The prophecies say to stay where you are, for the most part.  If God needs to physically preserve you for some future purpose, He will.  If it's your time to go, so be it.  Now is a good chance to say some extra Rosaries.  Who cares whether it happens in 2010 or 2030, we know it's going to happen.

No civilization built on corrupt premises that drives God and the Church out of the driver's seat can last.
Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

  • The US National Academy of Sciences (most of whom are atheists, by the way, but that's another post) have warned of rapid climate change for decades.  Any "rapid" climate change will, however, occur over at least a decade or two.  You will be able to walk (and even crawl) away from sea level rise.  Moving your house and local skyscraper will, however, be much more difficult.
