With the campaign to remove constitutional protection of the unborn child well underway it is no surprise the mother and baby homes are back in the news. They will probably show the Magdalene Sisters film a couple of times. This vigil was held on All Souls Day. Who wishes to bet something for 8th December? It's all predictable.
On a very personal level my relative died in this particular home. She died of Tuberculosis (TB) and the baby was fostered out. He married and had a happy life. He died a few years ago. I only ever met him once at a family wedding. I can't speak for all my family but certainly don't believe my relative was murdered. She was a nurse and died of Tuberculosis (TB). This was many decades ago.
The woman, who organised the vigil seems to be a troublemaker or allow themselves to be used by anti Catholic forces. I would object to term 'survivors' though accept some people have been hurt by experiences in mother and babies home.
The usual suspects the rape crisis centres, and other pro abortion groups use these homes to bash Catholicism. Younger Catholics in particular need to be vigilant and not be used by these people.
It would be better to pray for these babies and not exploit. The enemies of the church will exploit the unsuspecting.
