  • And he had many, many more concubines. He was, however, devout and penitent, and a protector of the Church.

  • I support Trump on certain issues but  his character is not something that we need to defend.    How can we defend that as Catholics? We can't!   Trump is better on the issues than Clinton. This is why I'm voting for Trump.

My point in posting this is that Charlemagne was a good king despite having several wives and concubines. The same could be true for Trump.

Thank you for this. It's about time someone created a reference chart for me!
"This principle is most certain: The non-Christian cannot in any way be Pope. The reason for this is that he cannot be head of what he is not a member. Now, he who is not a Christian is not a member of the Church, and a manifest heretic is not a Christian, as is clearly taught by St. Cyprian, St. Athanasius, St. Augustine, St. Jerome, and others. Therefore, the manifest heretic cannot be Pope." -- St. Robert Bellarmine

  • Are we really comparing Trump to Charlemagne?

Charlemagne was born a few hundred years after the barbarians were converted yet even there such a conversion was often ambiguous because of an admixture of their brutal ways (from their pagan past) and their new-found faith.

Trump was born 1200 years later!

    I mean really?
