I doubt it will have any information on Martin that MauricePinay and Gerard haven't talked about.

Producers Chris Patterson and Paddy McCarney of Belfast, Ireland, based Causeway Pictures are in pre-production for a feature length bio-docuмentary examining the fascinating life, controversial claims and mysterious work of one of religion’s most notorious figures, Fr. Malachi Martin. This is not exactly horror, but all of you who ave an interest in exorcism  and the mysterious might take a liking to this project. If you do, you can get involved by donating to the currently ongoing Kickstarter Campaign.

The story of Malachi Martin truly is an incredible one and strangely enough, little known. Causeway Pictures want to create a feature bio-docuмentary using narration, interviews, archive materials and dramatized inserts where we will tell a story of one of religions most notorious figures.

Starting at his birthplace in Co. Kerry, Ireland we intend to follow Malachi’s travels through Europe, his work at an exorcist, his high powered life in the Vatican before moving to America where he would spend his final years working as a teacher, exorcist and, even though he had left the church in unusual circuмstances, in some way still a priest.

Released from his Jesuit vows after a chequered past Martin began his life as a successful religious author, secular priest and self professed exorcist. He made many claims publicly not only about possessions and exorcism, but also about a satanic corruption that ran deep within the Holy City itself.

Producer Chris Patterson began working in the production industry as a student at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where he earned a BA Theatre Studies: Stage Management. Having finished his degree he worked in the concert production industry before moving into Television and Film Location Management. Chris has spent the last 10 years working as Location Manager and Production Manager all over the UK and Ireland on projects as varied as BBCs ‘Auf Weidershen Pet’ (2002),  NBCs ‘Branson: The Billionaire’, ‘Mersey Beat’ (2004), ‘Quantum of Solace’ (2009), ‘Hellboy 2: The Golden Army’ (2008) recently Chris Line Produced ‘A Belfast Story’ (2011).

Producer Paddy McCarney has worked extensively in the Film and TV world for the last 15 years in many capacities. He is best known for his work as a location manager on some of Irelands biggest film productions such as ‘Angelas Ashes’, ‘In America’ and ‘Bloody Sunday’. He has managed budgets well in excess of €1m and working with some of the worlds most talented Directors and Producers.

  • Agreed.

MM is a media draw even to this day. The credentials of the people making this film (very, very liberal ) underscore that sad reality.

That is not to say that Martin did not have eloquence. He did.

But, at least from what I've read by those who've really tested the evidence, his claims (and his penchant for married women, as attested by well known clergy in some cases) wildly exceeded reality.

How a man who helped foster the Jєωιѕн triumph at Vatican II, making a princely sum from his Judaic paymasters, and then went on to become a media darling, despite preposterous claims about his "exorcist career" and a wildly imaginative set of claims - all eloquently sold, of course - ever became an idol among some traditionalists escapes me.

  • Well I know many rely on him to keep believing in the modern claimants to the papacy, I think ultimately that was his purpose... I can be wrong it could have just been to ease up Jєωιѕн-Catholic "dialogue" and shut the traditionalist up. Not a good thing, if he says some truth it is only so that he can gain credibility.  The bad thing is that he said a whole lot more truth then lies, which is what makes him even more wicked.
