I was surprised to find that many SSPX young couples are on food stamps, WIC, and most appalled at the fact that they consider this normal. What happened to the American work ethic? Just a few years ago, people were embarrassed to be on welfare. Communism/Socialism uses handouts to get votes and get into power. Lucia of Fatima said that the whole world, and specifically the USA will become communist. It is happening right before our eyes among the "traditionalists" of the future.

It's become normal because of the lack of opportunity for men to find work that will easily support a family.

Yeah, you need to look at reality and the fact that jobs are being hemorrhaged by rapacious greedy corporations who own the government, and women in the workplace doesn't help either.

You will hear more of this from the wealthy in the future; people are just "lazy" if they don't want to work 20 hour days for peanuts for the corporations that own their government and their very existence. Soon it will get to the point where even the upper middle class will get sucked under. Then everyone will finally learn where their selfish attitude got them, but it will be too late.

I once again repeat, the Protestant work ethic is just that -- Protestant. Americans are more like Prots or Japanese or Chinese than they are like European Catholics, where the kids live at home until they're married, where there isn't this constant pressure to make money... So it is no wonder that our "freedom" has devolved into a form of Chinese slavery, where soon few will even be able to afford their own home.

I can say this, girls are about to work very hard here in America -- as prostitutes. Just like in Russia when the economic bomb went off. Gotta help daddy pay off his underwater mortage.

Do you know how much you can make when you have 5, 6, 7 children and still qualify for these programs? A person with a good job and 2 or 3 children will not qualify while that same job with 5+ children will.

These things are also cut off at different levels, so you can't really lump food stamps and WIC into the same comment -- you can make nearly twice as much money for WIC as you can with food stamps.

I'm of the opinion that you take what you qualify for when you can (whether you absolutely need it or not) and save your earned money for things like adding bedrooms on to your house. : )

Food stamps are preferable to contraception and childlessness.

Telesphorus & Raoul are both right, not to mention that very often, from what I've read & heard, many of the few jobs left require one to habitually commit sin, or help others to do so as a condition of employment.

I don't think it's that hard to understand, that when there no jobs, your work ethic doesn't much matter.

I was talking to a friend of mine recently, who knows a nurse. He mentioned how hard her job was, because she has to constantly avoid being drafted by the prostitution rings. "What?" I said. Apparently nurses, to earn some extra money, are now pimping each other out to patients, and forming prostitution rings. This kind of thing is going to become so widespread, you have no idea. You can feel it happening.

Because our "Christian" ethics are not real, because many Prots see no problem with fornication, so what is wrong with prostitution? This is why you now have Prots allowing their daughters to have bikini car washes. Just look at what Britney Spear's dad lets her do on stage -- and he is her manager. Yet he is considered to have helped her get "back on track."

Example:
To qualify for WIC with one child you must make less than $35,317.
To qualify for WIC with five children you must make less than $64,621.

Anyone that's seen the younger generation of nurses nowadays shouldn't be too surprised at this.

My BFF (age 23) is an RN (BSN) and in her 3rd year (she took her boards when she had just a 2 year degree) and she makes $26.50/hour. If she has to prostitute on top of that, I'd wonder what the money is for.

Then again, young nurses stereotypically go out and drink like fish. Ironically they tip bad too.

True. It would feel wealthy to me though. I could afford to stop hand washing my clothes.
