Traditional Religious Orders
« on: June 26, 2019, 06:07:30 PM »
Does anyone know of traditional religious orders here in the US?

Or perhaps abroad that would accept a monolingual (English)?

I am going to finish college in December and would like to discern God’s Will concerning my vocation.

- Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (New Hampshire + Massachusetts)

- The Missionaries of St. John the Baptist (Kentucky)

- Benedictines of Our Lady of Guadalupe, SSPX affiliated (New Mexico)

The above is not a comprehensive list. Just a few traditionalist orders for men in this country that come to mind.

Thanks for the reply, MarylandTrad.

I’ve been interested in all of those orders at one point or another.

Now I would only consider the Benedictines in New Mexico because of my stance on V2 and the New Rites of Episcopal Consecration and Ordination. As well as the other orders being subject to the local bishop, which has proven to be disastrous (Slaves in NH).

I am curious what the Benedictines in New Mexico would do if the SSPX made an agreement with Rome.

A resistance affiliated order would be preferable. People who aren’t going to compromise.

Glad to hear you are discerning, Colin! I don't hold the same position as you regarding the rite of Episcopal Consecration, but
I do share your stance re orders that act as if it is necessary to obey the unjust "laws" of local ordinaries.

If you have read this forum for any time you are probably already familiar with the Dominicans of Avrille. They are Resistance affiliated I believe, and I know that some Americans have joined them. You probably would be required to learn French if you discerned with them, but I would guess that they would allow you to start discerning as you are.

Hello Colin... The Benedictines in NM, Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery, are 100% behind Bp Felley in whatever he does. Hope this helps.
