Would you ever consider "trying something new" and going to a different chapel next Sunday?
If no, why not?
Is it
1) Because there are no other options?
2) Because the other option is too wishy-washy or questionable (Anglican Use, Indult, TLM said by Novus Ordo priest, etc.)
3) There are other options, but the other chapel(s) are further away?
4) Because you don't know anything about or trust the other priest(s) in your area?
5) Because you have a nice routine and don't wish to break it unless you have to?
6) Because you feel a sense of loyalty to your chapel and/or the group it represents?
And if your answer is 3), then I would ask -- are we talking 30 minutes for the other chapel, or 2 1/2 hours? Because Trads travel up to an hour *all the time* for Mass. I hope you're not staying in a comfortable routine just because you like being able to sleep in till 9:15 and still make it on time to a 10:00 morning Mass.
I'm just wondering how many Trads would go to a different Mass if they had an option -- just for variety and to get the benefits of two priests rather than one. As you might guess, priests are only human and each one has strengths and weaknesses. If you only hear the Masses of one priest for 10 years, you won't be very well-rounded.
