Prayers to all of the CathInfo members impacted by hurricane harvey.
Can any of you recommend a very basic reading list for traditional Catholics (especially Catholics who have recently escaped the Novus Ordo)?
This is what I have come up with so far:
- 1962 Roman Missal (I have also been told the 1958 Missal if I can find a copy)
- The Baltimore Catechism # 3 by Fr. Connell (But do you recommend all four books in the series? For some reason I recall hearing that this was the only version that I needed)
- The Sources of Catholic Dogma by Denzinger
Also, since I will need to prepare the children for First Holy Communion, is there a book that anyone can recommend for small children?

Since reclaiming the Traditional Faith is about much more than just the Liturgy, I would suggest all the encyclicals of Pope Leo XIII, Pius XI, and selective encyclicals of Pius IX to begin with.
Concerning present issues such as marriage Casti Connubii by Pope Pius XI is excellent, a complete catechisis on the sacrament of Holy Matrimony.
Also I found it helpful to read the docuements of Trent concerning the sacraments, especially the Holy Eucharist.
You can find most of that online for free.
Another book I found really useful is The Mystical Body of Christ in the Modern World by Rev. Denis Fahey. It's excellent and worth the effort.
