  • Check out the article for today.  (I won't post the link; you can Google it.)

    The caption states:

    Quote
Catholic King Henry V Leads the English Army at Agincourt (1415)
In the Name of St. Crispin, He Miraculously Triumphed over a Much Larger French Force
He Called upon His Catholic Men to Be Courageous in the Face of an Overwhelming Force
Just as True Catholics Today Are Called upon to Fight with Greater Courage
Against the Overweening Menace of the Uncatholic New Order Sect
And of the Modern French Enemy Bishop, Bernie Fellay
Who Would Sell out to Traditional Catholicism to the Damnable New Order

Whoever is writing these commentaries is just clueless.  The war (that is, the "100 years war") between England and France, two great Catholic kingdoms, was a tragedy, which ultimately led to the downfall of Constantinople to the Muslims.  I do not see how Traditio could "copy and paste" the above text (along, with the alleged quote, even if it is true) and compare one Catholic king's battlefield victory achieved against his fellow Catholics to the struggle of traditional Catholics in our day.

Sorry, the caption on their post just made me sick.  Remember what Mary revealed at Fatima, "War is a punishment for sin."

Marsha, sometimes Traditio tells the whole truth, sometimes half truths and sometimes outright lies.  So if you read Traditio you can't always be sure if what you're reading is the truth.  I find it best to check other sources to see if they match what is being written on Traditio.   Hope this helps.

  • Traditio does lie.

I've caught them in several lies.

They exaggerate, they are sensationalist, and they outright lie at times.

That's why I don't read the site, and prefer that articles there NOT be posted here. If there's any truth to a story, it will be found elsewhere too.

It's not like Traditio has news correspondents all over the world, and sometimes they get a scoop...
No, if they alone carry a story, it's because THEY MADE IT UP! It's just a couple guys with a website; remember that.

  • Traditio is entertaining, I'll give them that!

It's also a fast paced website, so you can go in, read, and get out quickly.

Matthew is right about them being sensationalist and they do get a little fast and loose with the facts.

I wouldn't exactly feel guilty about going to that site, but I would be cautious about taking their word for it on the important subjects a Catholic must face.

  • I haven't been over there for a few years. I used to get some laughs from the photos of "messes" they regularly posted.

I didn't know what CFN was, had to duck it (duckduckgo.com, no tracking).  If what you read on Traditio pertains to the SSPX I guess CFN would be a good place to check, otherwise search the net to check on traditio's veracity.

I do make a habit of checking the sources sited in any article I read, providing I can find them.  I have not always been able to do that though, and then I just take the factoid with a grain a salt.

    Succinct and accurate, Matthew.

Some readers might need to see it explained that Traditio gives out 'hints' that
would seem to indicate that they have 'news correspondents all over the world,'
while in fact they only have a few volunteers or regulars who send in stuff, but
nobody has any way of verifying who sent it or what the occasion really is, or
whether it's reliable.  And if you do send something in that they use, you'll find
their version hardly matches what really happened.

If you want to see how responsive they are, pick just about any post and send
an e-mail to make spelling or grammar corrections, and find out for yourself.

Pompous, proud and haughty are characterizations that are not alien to accuracy.
Even if they're wrong, they persist in their error with pride.  If they were running
the SSPX it would be in a LOT worse shape than it currently is!
