  • Growing up, we always put a star on top.  My husband's family always did an angel.  Now we alternate each year.

  • We use the stacked ball  topper with the point. I'm not sure it has an official name.

  • We alternate each year between a star, an angel, a transparent glass figure of Our Lady (which we put some lights behind to light it up).

  • I found a most beautiful white crocheted star  12".  Made 2 and pieced it together and used starch or a glue.  Some women used sugar water to stiffen.  Well, thank God for other stiffeners.  I find it very odd, why, I do not see (liquid) starch on the grocery shelves!  Why is that?  When I was in the military we used liquid starch like people drink milk!
