  • Ha!  I had a started a prayer thread on Fisheaters for Tom (be a great win for the Church) after Katie left.Is this the beginning?

"Apparently Tom has had enough and is looking to extricate himself from the community.

The actor has been involved with the religion for decades.

Tom has recently divorced from ex-wife Katie Holmes, whom he shares six-year-old daughter Suri with, and his beliefs have come under public fire.

“Tom hasn’t admitted that he’s definitely leaving Scientology for good,” source told Star magazine.

“But he’s distanced himself from those in the church and has been hanging out with good friends who aren’t part of the religion.”

Tom has had failed marriages with Katie, Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman and also experienced a high-profile split from ex-girlfriend Penélope Cruz.

The thespian evidently attributes his relationship breakdowns to his affiliation with Scientology.

“Tom’s been leaning on friends who have different perspectives, getting advice on moving on from Katie as well as on everything he’s been going through with Scientology,” the source said.

“He’s finally seeing that being such an advocate for Scientology hasn’t served him as well as he’d hoped -- he’s gone through three divorces, and his public perception has sunk to an all-time low.”

  • I hope so, but perhaps not.  I find this line telling: " He’s finally seeing that being such an advocate for Scientology hasn’t served him as well as he’d hoped -- he’s gone through three divorces, and his public perception has sunk to an all-time low.” It may be that he is simply not profiting from it adequately anymore.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

  • Most likely Tom Cruise was kicked out because he bought negative media coverage to scientology.

He should give Mel Gibson a call and join his parish.
May God bless you and keep you
