You're quite right I did miss the prelude to the posts. I apologize to Mr Francis and his family. I was not actually chewing him out, just trying to get a bead on what was happening.
I usually only check the threads that have some interest for me.
:sign-surrender:
Thread titles are really important here because that's the only place
where you can easily see any description of the content of each thread.
When there is a discussion inside the thread that has nothing to do with
the thread title, there are going to be lots of members who are left out,
and the thread will exclude much discussion for lack of exposure.
There have been threads that have titles like "Read This" and very few
will read it, or "Question" without mentioning what the question is, or
"Disgusting" -- now what if you don't feel like being disgusted? Should
you read a thread called "Disgusting?" It could have been called
"Nauseating" or "Sickening" or "Ridiculous" or "Stupid" or "Dumb" or
"Foolishness" or "Filthy" or "Repulsive" equally to being "Disgusting" --
would a novel have any chance of becoming a best seller with any of
those titles?
Person A: "I read this great book today."
Person B: "Oh, really? What's the title?"
Person A:
"Read This. It's the sequel to another great book,
Disgusting." .
