  • I realize that some of you might be using this term innocently, so don't take this the wrong way.

But it's not accurate at all to call CathInfo a "blog".

The definition of "blog": Short for weblog or web-log, a website that consists of a list of diary entries -- usually operated by an individual. Blogs are the modern equivalent of  "personal websites" that people used to have in the 1990's.

Anyhow, a blog is always by an individual and/or his family.

A forum or message board is not a blog. Period.

For one thing, everything posted on a "blog" comes from one individual -- whereas as message board is something COMPLETELY different.

I ask that everyone use the proper terms when describing CathInfo.

You can choose from: forum, message board, community. Even "chat room" would be more accurate than "blog".

    Thank you,

    Matthew

Actually, chat room is not accurate - you are doing to "chat room" what you are complaining of in others who call this forum a blog.  Chat rooms are found on the IRC (Internet Relay Chat).  Forums are not chat rooms.

    I realize that.

However, at least a chat room is a group of unrelated people who come together to communicate with each other by typing.

A blog and a forum have NOTHING in common, except they both reside on the WWW.

Why not call CathInfo a search engine or online supermarket while you're at it?

Indeed - though "chat room" IS the same as calling it a search engine or supermarket :)
