  • I have met a lot of black folks that, esp amongst older people, do not like the term "african american".

I dont either, why do they get a formal, hypenated titel and the rest of us are "white", "asian" or "hispanics"-though with red necks, lumped into "mexicans', whick is offensive to many C/S American people.

I have for some time referred of myself, esp the the AA PC police as European American to get their goat and noticing that the term is slowly more and more used.

What think you all-good to use for tongue-cheek and to make a point?

went ahead and put in it my signature, but do you liek the idea.....heck if the media and PC crowd like AA term, why not us use the term EA....

    thoughts?

Well, that's an interesting thought. I don't think I've ever seen a Mexican with a red neck, though.

    No, meant:
Red necks in my area seem to call all hispanics "mexicans" regardless of country of origin.....some Central and S.Americans, that is fighting words......

Now, do you like the term European American?
