  • Yes.
Religion clean and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation: and to keep one's self unspotted from this world.
    ~James 1:27

  • What kind of question is that?

Any Catholic knows what the answer is. I don't even know why you're asking it.

They say, "There are no dumb questions", but I don't know...

  • It isn't a matter of avoiding, it's a matter of not marrying them. You shouldn't. Unless you like your life filled with bitterness, strife, and resentment.

Agreed.  You want to go into marriage reducing the amount of conflict regarding matters of faith.  That doesn't necessarily mean spouses will never change wrt those things during the course of your marriage, but you want to at least start off on the right foot.

Dumb or not, it is clear you need guidance with this.  I think it is easy sometimes to think we can let this or that go (or think someone will change) ....especially when we find someone we feel very strongly about.   This is why we should get as much information regarding these things ASAP before we get emotionally involved/attached.

Thats kinda what I was thinking. But I suppose we should avoid anything like this without question.

I think the same thing about much of what IF says and asks.  Sometimes it seems like he's just trying to stir conflict.  Of course this particular question shouldn't cause conflict within the forum.

  • Intending to not have children during a marriage is an impediment to the marriage.
