This forum is fun. It is what fish eaters was for a small amount of time. It is now the best Trad Catholic forum on the net. We have Trads of every stripe coming together and trying to discern the truth and oftentimes meeting others and forming Positive friendships along the way.  :dancing-banana:

  • Allow me to piggyback on that. First, thanks Sedetrad for pointing this out. I think its good for us to recognize what we've got here.

Second of all, I was thinking this morning of how much I've changed after finding CathInfo. I've alluded to this in the past, but now- its obvious- CI has changed my life! And for the better!

    Okay, enough with the corny-ness.

  • I just wanted to point out the good of the forum after all the bad blood of these last few weeks that I have taken part in with others.

  • I agree.  I have enjoyed this forum.
However, when you get a person on that uses foul language and  calumniates priests, this person should be warned by private message from the moderater.  If he doesnt stop, he should be banned, no matter what his reputation score or how many years hes been on.
This forum has been scandalous the last month or so.

In that case, I would just ignore someone like that. To avoid being ambiguous, anyone who has been on this board at least as long as I have, should be able to recognize G_V and his posts and realize that something happened to him to cause him, and others to explode the way he did. I could recognize it, that's why I stayed out of it (apart from it not being my business-and really, it was actually very, very few people's business here; G_V being one of the few qualified to actually comment). But there are many on here who have yet to apologize for, objectively, egging him on. Sure he was acting stupidly, but I didn't see most of those who complained ignore his idiocracy- some went along with it. At least he has apologized.

I think he was left on here because the moderator was able to recognize that his actions were not regular. Its sort of like catholic marriage. If you get married, and immediately upon marrying, *presto*, your spouse isn't the same person as immediately before marriage, then the marriage is invalid (I'm simplifying, but you get my point). But if they, many years into the marriage, decide to do something stupid like be adulterous, this doesn't invalidate the marriage. Well if someone signed onto CI, and immediately acted like G_V right away, then I'm POSITIVE Matt would have banned him. But Gladius was 'married' to CathInfo for some time. And as I said, we cant be foolish enough to see that he's probably gone through a pretty rough ordeal. This doesn't excuse his actions, but it certainly explains them in a way so as excuse his not being banned.
