I know of a girl who was born with a head atop her head (see first photo). The second head functioned independently from the main head since the brains were separate and distinct. Since the "parasitic" twin had a brain and moved independently of the main head, it is evident it had a soul. But then there was a girl in India who was born with four arms and four legs (see second picture).  The girl absorbed the limbs, kidneys and other body parts of the undeveloped fetus. The girl's two spines are merged, she has four kidneys, entangled nerves, two stomach cavities and two chest cavities. My question is this: in this second case, since there doesn't seem to be a brain for the "parasitic" twin, did it ever have a soul?

There is a fallen nature to mankind and as such, we are in need of Redemption.

Just in case anyone is interested in knowing more about these two girls:

The girl in the first photo is from Egypt. A thirteen-hour surgery was performed on February 19, 2005 to remove the attached head. Doctors claimed it was neccessary if the girl was to continue living. If the Church teaches that it is unacceptable for a woman to kill her unborn child inorder to save her own, then what they did was murder  :cry:. A double tragedy is that the girl passed away from a brain infection shortly before her second birthday on March 25, 2006  :sad:.

The girl in the second picture is from India. They performed an eighteen-hour surgery on November 07, 2007 and successfully removed unformed twin. A later operation is planned to bring her legs closer together.
