  • For anyone interested,

    I composed these songs some time ago, but only recently recorded and uploaded them.  It seemed like a proper time to post them because of Lent.   :)

    1. Mater Dolorosa

    Oh what joy, yet oh what sorrow!
    Oh what grief untold!
    Oh what love and desolation
    Hidden in earth's fold!

    Tears of joy and tears of sorrow;
    Showing on her face.
    Yet no tears of desperation;
    Bearing all with grace.

    Silently she stands and watches,
    As her loved one dies.
    Not like other earthly mothers,
    Does she utter cries.

    Travelers pass by and wonder
    Who this woman is.
    A man inspired by God declares:
    "The mother of God - It is!"

    Oh, let us share thy grief divine;
    To atone for sin.
    Grant us strength to never falter;
    To the battle win.

    2.  The Robe (Words by Joyce Kilmer  -December 6, 1886 – July 30, 1918)

    At the foot of the cross at Calvary
    Three soldiers sat and diced.
    And one of them was the devil,
    And won the robe of Christ.

    When the devil comes in his proper form,
    To the chamber where I dwell.
    I know him and make the sign of the cross
    Which drives him back to hell.

    I saw him through a thousand veils,
    And has not this sufficed?
    Now must I see the devil robed,
    In the radiant robe of Christ?

    How can I tell, who am a fool?
    If this be Christ or no?
    Those bleeding hands outstretched to me!
    Those eyes that love me so!

    I see the robe, I look, I hope,
    I fear, yet there is one;
    Who will direct my troubled soul,
    Christ's Mother knows her Son.

    "This man of lies" she says...
    "Disguised with fearful art."
    "He has the wounded hands and feet,"
    "But not the wounded heart."

    At the foot of the cross at Calvary,
    She watched them as they diced.
    She saw the devil join the game,
    And win the robe of Christ.
    "Jesus, Meek and Humble of Heart, make my heart like unto Thine!"

    As on YouTube?  Well, my brother helped me (he has some amazing editing software to enhance and edit everything).  He has yet to show me how to use it though...
    Sorry I am not able to help more...

    There are probably videos you could watch about how to set up a YouTube Channel and upload soundtracks, pictures, and videos though.  Do you play an instrument or sing?  :)

  • I listened to the first. Very beautiful, Rita. It has an Irish sound. Do you play the music as well, and is that also your composition? I really like the finish. God has given you many talents which you seem not to wasting. Good work!
    Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
    Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

    Thanks, Nadir!
    Yes, I did compose as well as play and sing the songs.
    Maybe other people on the forum who have musical talents would be willing to share what music they play or have made on this thread too?    :)
