  • I taught my childen to stay away from all of it, as it is not for us to discern were the "safe zones" are. But, there was a time that the "zodiac" was looked on differently. Leo was called Great Lion of Judah and so on. I do not know much of this, however Solange Hertz mentioned it in one her books.

  • We might be influenced by the stars, but we're forbidden to let our free will be guided by it. That would be against the First Commandment.

Note I said free will -- our free will overrides any "tendency" that is in us -- whether from genetics, the stars, our culture, environment, upbringing, etc.  Those influences are very real, but they don't force us to act.

We are free, and deserve a reward/punishment for everything we do. That is, everything we do has a "moral" dimension.

But to answer your question, I doubt that Astrology is complete "bunk" -- why wouldn't the scam DIE after 6,000 years or so? There MUST be something to it.

But to a Catholic, it's irrelevant, since anything can be overridden with one act of Free Will.

and our vices and virtues are results of our cooperating or not cooperating with grace plus upbringing and education ,not a result of being born on certain day/month.

  • Free will is something we must always consider. I think today, in our day and age, people indeed try to make excuses or explain away (including a pathetic soul like me :( ) for actions by saying it is influences which are cultural, political, economic, religious,  social, etc. Different factors do have to be considered, but we cannot exclude free will. I really detest though how the Novus Ordo goes and seems to take it for granted that everyone in false religious sects are invincibly ignorant as if they do not remain in their false religion out of their own free will. We must remember that faith precedes understanding and not the other way around. One must choose to have the virtue of faith in spite of having first possibly gone through intellectual arguments.

I have a very serious question about the zodiac. Is it wrong to believe that a person born on certain day or month of the year can act a certain way, for example "Aries think this way, Taurus act like that".

I don't think it's wrong, in the way you are asking it, TheD.  It's all in our intention (or like others have said, in our will).  If we seek answers through this sort of thing, or run our lives by astrology, that is sinful, again, like others here have stated.  But I don't think it's wrong to "consider" it.  Just keep it in it's rightful place and don't give it too much thought. :smirk:
