The cashier at Sam's told me today the word is that prices are going waaaaay up real soon, and you won't believe how high.

Seemed like an intelligent and nice young guy, with enough dread and anxiety on his countenance to make him believeable.

In a way its surprising; commodity prices are down, as is gasoline. So I wouldn't expect them to be saying this, at least not right now.

Someone reported on another forum:

"10 pack of Dial soap was $2.69 last month at Wal-Mart. Yesterday is was $3.69."

Only a month has elapsed, and it's 37% more! That's a pretty scary level of price increase.

Imagine your monthly food budget going from $400 to $548 or from $500 to $685...
