  • Alright.  This is one of those major deep questions. How can one know what the will of God is for one's self?

Also, what are the best spiritual works to consult for this topic?

    Thank you.

  • I recommend a little treatise called "Uniformity with God's Will" by Alphonsus de Liguori. It is an excellent read.

I guess the best way to "know" the will of God is being in sanctifying grace. When your soul is clean of sin and you are in state of grace, the Holy Ghost can dwell in you and "guide" you.

Accepting truly Our Lord's will is of vital importance in our way of salvation. One must be humble and renounce self and gladly accept everything that God sends our way, joy and sorrow, happiness or tribulation. We must be grateful and know that God wants the best for our souls. We need to have a child-like trust in His infinite wisdom.

“Prosperity does not lift me up, nor adversity cast me down. I direct all my prayers to the end that God’s will may be done fully in me and by me”.
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • The will of God can be  the little things that happen to you each day, things that you did not cause yourself. Things that you have no control over. Sometime good things and sometime things you  normally would complain about, but maybe they happen to teach you patience, compassion for others, humility or other virtues.

God works in our soul in a most mysterious way.

    Please pray for my soul.

  • A big on I forgot above would be the disappointments in our life, we want one thing but God wants something else for us.  We can't see the big picture right at the moment, but if you trust in God and accept it, eventually you will see the big picture.
    Please pray for my soul.

  • And we need to pray for Catholics who are in error.
And correct them in a charitable way.

I was amazed at how the real St Francis converted the Jєωs and even the Muslims without selling out or watering down the true Catholic Faith.

Yes they will know us by our fruit.
May God bless you and keep you
