  • I'm boggled by the Whore of Babylon thing. I understand the papacy is true in Matthew 16:18 and that Jesus wanted the Church to be One, and that it is the Pillar and Foundation of Truth (1 Timothy 3:15), and that truly the gates of hell will never overtake what Christ, our Lord, established for us. But I'm boggled by these claims about the whore of babylon. I know many say the Vatican does not sit on the seven hills of Rome, but what about Saint John Lateran Cathedral, where the pope goes? And the whole 17:18- The woman whom you saw is the great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth... and obviously The Vatican and ROme have NO dominion over any kings today, with secularism and other religious kingdoms in the world, but what about the epitome of false religion? And Jehovah's Witnesses, buzz off, you guys are wrong. Jesus is God, not Michael. Or the claims of 18:24- And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints and of ALL WHO HAVE BEEN SLAIN ON EARTH.

So, is the Whore another false religious system? Or is the Traditionalist Catholic view that it was a Vatican II church that distorted and affiliated with other religions, like when JP2 had that prayer gathering with the Buddha on top of the Tabernacle?

But Matthew 16:18... The gates of hell will NEVER PREVAIL AGAINST IT... does that throw this theory out of the water? whore of babylon thing?

Please help. I have OCD and greatly despair of God's love.

The Whore of Babylon could very well be the United States of America.

    Lady Liberty

    The Buying and Selling.

The rampant immorality in our society (gαys marrying - Fornication common place etc

And we know what happens to her.

So true - or the entire Progressive movement which encompasses тαℓмυdic Judaism , Free Masonry , Communism , Socialism , for the purpose of bringing about the nєω ωσrℓ∂ σr∂єr one world governance (Which sounds a whole lot like the Novus Ordo World Council of Churches becoming a member , which also explains the affinity for the UN)

  • I believe the whore is interfaith, and I also believe that the United States although going downhill daily will in the end be blessed because of what Therese Neuman said, we always fed even our enemies.
    Please pray for my soul.

  • This is just my opinion, but I believe the WOB is the Vatican II church.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • There is a "great city" identified by St.John in the Apocalypse some chapters prior in 11:8 of which he writes "where Our Lord was crucified", that is, Jerusalem. And yes, Jerusalem does sit on seven hills too. So, apostate Jerusalem is one likely candidate.

As for pagan Rome being a possible choice, it will be in this sense - many Catholic writers think that the relation between AntiChrist and the Pope in the last days of the world will be like that between Nero and the pagan emperors and St.Peter and the first Popes, St.Linus, St.Clement etc. That is, the Vicar of Christ will be actively persecuted, perhaps driven underground and yet will lead the faithful being the Bishop of Rome as St.Peter did in the first century.
"Never will anyone who says his Rosary every day become a formal heretic ... This is a statement I would sign in my blood." St. Montfort, Secret of the Rosary. I support the FSSP, the SSPX and other priests who work for the restoration of doctrinal orthodoxy and liturgical orthopraxis in the Church. I accept Vatican II if interpreted in the light of Tradition and canonisations as an infallible declaration that a person is in Heaven. Sedevacantism is schismatic and Ecclesiavacantism is heretical.
