Story they are talking about as the 33 miners are brought up one by one today.

Just think, if they did not stop to admire this white butterfly, they would have been caught in the collapse.

I like to think this butterfly was indeed an angel.

What a beautiful story today on the news.

Thank you, and I have been so excited every time they bring up one of those miners. They seem to be plucked from Hell, and on this special day too, the anniversary of the miracle of the sun.

Some of them come up making the sign of the Cross, one that I noticed, fell to his knees and made the sign of the Cross, one said that while he was down there, the devil and God were fighting for him, and God won.

Speaking of today,(feast of the miracle of the sun) here in Spokane our Church is meeting downtown to have a rosary procession through riverfront park, down town, the entire school and church will be there, what a sight that will be.

I'm glad that ya'll are able to have a public procession in a downtown area. Public worship is most efficacious. I hope the turn out was good!

Not only do we need more rosary processions, but many, many years ago, we had in Toronto Rosary Sunday with all parishes taking part, with high schools, convents of nuns in full habits, nurses, K of C, Holy Name Society etc. I'm sure Myrna there were such events in other cities. Father Patrick Peyton did so much to encourage the rosary both on TV and radio.

I watched this last night- did you notice the T-Shirts the miners were wearing which said "Thank you, Lord", and the rosaries round their necks? For many I suspect the ordeal will have resulted in many graces as they turned to God- one has already said that he will get married in the Church after years of being "partnered".

Do tell more! Like so many others who live in border cities, I've taken the train to Toronto many times. Where were the processions? Did they have them just near the churches or did they have them in the centre(downtown) of Toronto?

They were always at Maple Leaf Stadium, then I believe it was at the Ex. Stadium. We did have one in Scarborough at the Ted Reeve arena and that one was with Father Peyton. I think that was the last one. The processions were lead by the Bishop, Priests, Sisters, nurses, K of C, high school students with their uniforms, the parishes carried banners. They were truly beautiful events and made you feel so proud to be a Catholic.
We could have put Benny Hinn comedy hours to shame.
Now where are our Bishops and their dedication to Our Lady?
Yes, I know the environment,economy and the ecuмenical movement. No time for Our Lady and the rosary.

Forgot to mention, all parishes in the diocese took part. The living rosary was on the field and the girls from the high school opened up the bead as each one was said by holding a blue or white circle of material. Of course the crucifix was the start and again it was with the girls opening up the material. Hope I have explained this for all to understand. If you were in the stands you clearly saw the rosary in the field.
I'm sure there were other cities out there with the same.
This loss was such a tragedy and I believe if it were to appear again, many graces would be obtained.

Yes, Catholic Samurai the procession had a fantastic turnout, the children dressed in their school uniforms, (most of them) and it was really an eye opener for those in the park who happen to be there. One person even ran up to us, and said, "what are you doing", "we are praying the rosary" was the answer.

We really made a statement.

Actually our church does this each month, starting in May, on the 13th in honor of Fatima, but this last one in Oct. was really the best, because the nuns begged the people to participate and the people obeyed.

Maybe the nuns know something, that we don't know, about coming events. Just wondering!

Do you suppose the religious, everywhere, anywhere, might know things, that God reveals to them, but for some reason they are not telling the lay people?

One more little bit, about the miners I thought of, there were 33 of them, the same age as Christ.
