The vortex yesterday mentioned the salaries of CAF and their attack on traditional Catholics. See voris opinion on CAF in this vortex.

I had no idea how lucrative working for NO media was - no wonder they maintain such a high standard of heresy.

  • I could understand pulling in 100k a year if you had a big family, but I wonder if any of these shills they're paying actually have more than 2-3 kids.
    Matthew 5:37

But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil.

"Catholic Answers has done fine work in the area of apologetics
and is to be commended for any souls they might have
influenced to come to the Catholic faith - BRAVO!"  (minute 5:00)

And this is in context of complaining about the "church of nice."

How to explain that one?  It takes one to know one?

Catholic Answers is a repulsive place!

The moderators go out of their way to be nice and even use the one or two Jєωιѕн phrases that they know when addressing a Jєωιѕн poster yet any Traditional Catholic is banned if he defends his Catholic position.  Does that seem bizarre?  A guy who openly denies Our Lord is treated with fawning respect but someone who thinks the pope is enacting policies that are destructive to the Church is shown the door in a manner of minutes.

That forum is the textbook definition of lukewarm Catholics.

"Cultural Catholics," maybe, but not true Catholics.
"This principle is most certain: The non-Christian cannot in any way be Pope. The reason for this is that he cannot be head of what he is not a member. Now, he who is not a Christian is not a member of the Church, and a manifest heretic is not a Christian, as is clearly taught by St. Cyprian, St. Athanasius, St. Augustine, St. Jerome, and others. Therefore, the manifest heretic cannot be Pope." -- St. Robert Bellarmine

So they believe just because it was popular amongst the people they respect and not out of personal experience or true conversion?
I say this is true for all those who have not had trials enough to break them.

I believe there's some of that, but it goes with what I've always called the "My Daddy Was a Democrat Syndrome." You know the type: "Conservative Catholics" who claim they're faithful but vote for Democrats because "My Daddy was a Democrat." In other words, they don't really believe anything; they just follow the crowd. They have their own tradition, if you will. Think of all the cars you see on the road with Rosaries hanging from the rear-view mirror. Now, what percentage of those people do you think know how to even pray the Rosary, let alone actually do it? I bet if you asked most of them why they're a Catholic, you would receive that type of response: "Well, Daddy was a Catholic..." That's a Cultural Catholic to me. They would do well to remember 1 Peter 3:15: "But sanctify the Lord Christ in your hearts, being ready always to satisfy every one that asketh you a reason of that hope which is in you."
