  • Merry Xmas, happy holiday, happy valentines day and now four leaf clovers are  replacing three leaf clovers by the liberals among us.

St. Patrick is associated only with the Shamrock (which is the three leaf clover) because he used it to teach the Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

    Happy St. Patrick's Day!
May God bless you and keep you

  • We're looking forward to celebrating St. Patrick's Day this Sunday.

We're going to have some special treats for the kids. And we'll probably listen to a lot of Irish folk music that day, too.

Our last name is Irish, so I want to make a big deal out of our great patron's feast day.

  • In Ireland, the feast of St Patrick is first class, should not Passion Sunday have precedence?

  • I'm possibly about three-quarters Irish.
    The Irish are GREAT.
And I really like an Irish personality as well.
The Irish are devout, humble, modest, kind, trustworthy, honourable, brave, good, and nice.
Also, they are great company, and great conversationalists.
And they kept the Faith, up to Vatican II, which is more than the English, etc, did.
    The Irish are great.

Francis is an Antipope. Pray that God will grant us a good Pope and save the Church.
I abjure and retract my schismatic support of the evil CMRI.Thuc condemned the Thuc nonbishops
"Now, therefore, we declare, say, determine and pronounce that for every human creature it is necessary for salvation to be subject to the authority of the Roman Pontiff"-Pope Boniface VIII.
If you think Francis is Pope,do you treat him like an Antipope?

  • Being three-quarters Irish (me family comes from County Cavan), I am always happy when St Patrick's Day comes around! It is such a great opportunity to share our Faith in a positive way. Of course, it is upsetting that people denigrate the feast and just think about drinking. (SAD!)

I thought about something today... How come with St Valentine's Day, people say "Happy Valentine's Day!" and leave out the St, but with St Patrick's Day, they leave it in? You don't hear anyone saying, "Happy Patrick's Day!"

Also, St Valentine was a priest-martyr... where did flowers and chocolate and love notes come from?

And for St Patrick's, why not give shamrocks and think about St Patrick and the Faith? Why green beer, and drinking to excess!?!

Anyhoo, just random thoughts. Happy St Patrick's Day to you, CathInfo Family!

    Love,
    +michaela b.

PS on my calendar the feast is moved to Monday because of Passion Sunday.

PPS some good Irish bands are the Chieftains and the Dubliners. Songs... Rocky Road to Dublin, Wind That Shakes The Barley, The Foggy Dew, Danny Boy, etc

  • Yeah, the symbolfor the luck is replacing the Trinity.
Yay for trefoils! I think that trefoils are the appropitate symbols for the Trinity. I can't look at an Eye of Providence since I know its' Masonic usage.
