This true history of the real St. Francis of Assisi is most edifying.  And there is more:  The Franciscans are the religious order of the Crusades, of the Holy War.  So the strategy of the real St. Francis wasn't really different from the other Crusaders, but complementary to them.  Every Catholic is on a mission for the Prince of Peace, above all the Catholic holy warriors on Crusade.  And the primary object of Franciscan preaching has always been our fellow Catholic brothers and sisters.  Through the centuries that has always been much the most dangerous and demanding duty of the Franciscans.  Speaking truth to wayward Catholics has always brought on greatly more danger than anything the Muslims and heathen can do.

There will be lightning, thunder, earthquake and fire like never before, but Traditional Franciscans will speak truth to wayward Muslims and wayward Catholics alike.  Because, as is said, the seed of Christians is the blood of martyrs, with Franciscans always at the forefront.  And the armed and professional holy warriors on Crusade are always close behind them, because the words of Franciscans, like those of the Seraphic Patriarch before them, are also the first battle cries announcing Catholic armies that follow close behind.  So Traditional Franciscans will preach to the Muslims, and Catholic holy armies will be there with them.

But that preaching is directed primarily at the Catholics themselves.  Where sons of the real St. Francis preach, the holy armies of Catholic Nationalism are already forming, and the holy combats have as much as already begun.  Foolish wayward Catholics are welcome to smirk and mock as they like, but facts remain:

Real Franciscanism is true love, and the mark of true love is always the shedding of innocent Catholic blood.  So it was in the time of the real St. Francis of Assisi; so it is in the time of his Traditional Franciscan sons today.

Only much much more so.

The Maronites and Syrian Christians deserve all the help we can give them.  But no, am not he.  The Christians in the Middle East are doing well enough as they are without our weapons and bullets.  In truth, what they need from us most is actually simply our prayers and good intentions.  The weapons and bullets are easy, and yes, too easy, for them to get these days.  The Maronites and Syrian Christians are winning their wars, and the Franciscans are preaching there alongside them.  Deo gratias.

Don't blame the messenger.  The conflicts are erupting no matter what we do.  This is their time.  Only the real Catholics, with the real Franciscans at the forefront, can see clearly and guide the West through this time of troubles.  Our main duty is here at home in Europe and the Americas.  So don't trouble yourself about sending weapons and bullets.  The Catholics of the Middle East have oceans of those already.
