  • i was in a foul mood recently and i realised that when i pray i not so angry. so i did the sign of the cross, and i prayed to Our Lady (i remembered to capitalize spiritussanctus!). i wont say what the prayer was specifically, but i prayed for certain individuals i was feeling hatred for. well i feel much better now and dont really hate them. cant sayu i like these indivduals i prayed for, but i dont feel that searing hatred for them either. i have temporairly overcome the hatred. i am sure that hatred will crop up again, because my hatred for them is still a mystery to me, and so the resolution has not yet come. but it is nice to get some relief. when i feel hatred it blacken my mood, and pollute every action and every thought.

    the power of prayer.

  • Have you tried the Rosary, Herbert? If not, I strongly recommend it.

i have tried the rosary, exile. but i havent used it for a couple years. i found it to be too intense an experience.

i pretty sure istill have the orsary in my boxes somehwre. i thought about burying at one point, because i read that if you no longer going to use a rosary you should either give it away to someone, or you should bury it. but you should never throw it in the trash.

  • Yes, pray the Rosary daily. Mary says that through the Scapular and the Rosary, she will save the world. I didn't say the Rosary much until I watched a movie about Fatima in 2009 and have said it daily ever since. It has dramatically changed my life for the better. I also recommend wearing the Brown Scapular.

  • Mary is truly the help of all Christians,

Woe are those who do not find recourse to her.. They don't know what they are missing. Without her help, I would NOT be able to resist sin as I have and keep fighting. In fact, without the Rosary I definitely would have given up by now and have been captivated by my vices. I would NOT think about what going to Hell would actually mean at all (even if I may talk about it frequently). I would not find the drive to have contrition, and keep going back to confession, every time I fall. I would not feel the need to do penance beyond that which the priests give (3 Ave's/Pater Noster/Glorias don't seem to be enough for serious sins)

There is not a one created being that is more beloved by God than His own Mother. So, it should subsequently follow that you love Your Mother as God loves her as well and ask for her help.

Without the Rosary, who knows where I would be.. Maybe I would have fallen into New Atheism (as I was hovering over agnosticism/atheism for quite a while). I would probably still be an avid gamer. Now I just don't care anymore. I find my interest in matters that transcend the corporeal, and that includes the Rosary.

Trust me when I say this: Even if you hate to say the Rosary, find it boring/depressing or whatever, just SAY IT. You will not regret it, and feel better about yourself after. I promise.
For those who I have unjustly offended, please forgive me. Please disregard my posts where I lacked charity and you will see that I am actually a very nice person. Disregard my opinions on "NFP", "Baptism of Desire/Blood" and the changes made to the sacra

I say my entire Rosary in Latin. Not only is Latin beautiful but it helps me to concentrate better, I don't concentrate as well when praying it in english. I suggest learning how to say the Rosary in Latin.

I think Matthew wasn't of sound mind when he made that 'delete' button.

I bought my last rosary from a relative here.
I think they're scaling back their business, so the selection might not be the best.

The one I have is very similar to this, only in blue. A solid, basic rosary for $13 (+$5 shipping).

Indeed! And, daily! Just 20 minutes per day, and SO salutary. It's a promise.
