On Wikipedia, it is said that the letter of Publius Lentulus is a forgery, though it depicted Jesus as a typical Nazarene (long hair, beard). Is it true? And also, is there a reliable source on the Nazarene thesis?

Didn't just about everyone back then have a long hair and beard except maybe many of the Romans?

Unless I am mistaken, the Bible says that it is shameful for a male to have long hair. How then could that be the case with Jesus? :confused1:

I think Pelly means "is it true that the letter of Publius Lentulus is a forgery", not is it true that Jesus had long hair. Am I right, Pelly?

What the Hebrews and other peoples considered to be short hair, we would consider long by today's standards. What was inappropriate for a man was to let his hair grow all the way down to the buttocks, which was the length the women would keep their hair.

If you look at the Shroud of Turin you can see Christ had hair down to His shoulders.
