    • I just want to say that just because I have been against banning roscoe doesn't mean I am soft on him or that I agree with him, you know I too have had my problems with roscoe.  It is just my personality that I don’t feel right about asking anyone to be banned, especially when someone starts a thread about it.  I suppose if a person privately emailed Matthew and asked that might be different, but to start a thread about it doesn't seem charitable.  I know that is just my opinion and everyone has one.

    People here can’t understand how some stand up for a sinner, but Our Lord stood up for sinner too, and aren't we all sinners anyway, in different ways.  
    I remember reading some time ago, somewhere here that Matthew said, if you are so thinned skin that you can’t take someone else saying something you don’t like, you don’t belong on a forum. (paraphrasing what I remember being said, some time ago)
     
    If this was a parish where a person coming each Sunday was insulting the others it might be a different story, but his is not a Church, this is not a parish, but  an Internet forum.

    Funny you say it isn't charitable to start a thread asking roscoe to be banned. Is it charitable for roscoe to accuse me of devil worship? Is it charitable of roscoe to call us "jansenist liberals"? Is it charitable of roscoe to ridicule Raoul after his mother died? Is it charitable of roscoe to call this forum "a Vatican II anti-church forum"? There appears to be quite a few fallacies in your reasoning. I would have PMed Matthew, but Matthew isn't going to ban someone just because one person requests it through PM. Besides, I don't even know how frequently he checks his PMs.

    • No it isn't charitable for roscoe to say some of the things he says, but two wrongs don't make a right.  

    Again SS I am voicing my opinion here, you don't have to agree with me. I notice many of your ilk said some uncharitable things too, so if we were going to bann everyone for being un-charitable we wouldn't have a forum at all, because no one would be here to post.

    So what was I supposed to do? Just sit there and take the insults roscoe was flinging at me? Use an ignore button that does not even completely ignore someone? What started this whole rivalry between roscoe and I was when I told him he was wrong to smoke pot and listen to the Beatles. Why did I tell him that? Because I care about his soul. According to the recent attitude of this forum, I was supposed to just not say anything, to just show roscoe warm fuzzy love and compassion and encourage him to keep doing what he was doing. Sorry, but I defend the truth and don't worry what others think of me. If you think I'm trying to "crucify" roscoe when all I was trying to do was help this forum and those who were offended by him, well you're entitled to your opinion. It's that "either accept roscoe or pack your bags" attitude I've been given from you and others that's made me decide to leave forever if roscoe isn't banned.

    You mean quoting his old posts? That's just to show how uncharitable he is. Afterall, my case to ban him would look pretty weak if I presented no evidence for his uncharitableness.

    • For the record I asked in PM months ago for Roscoe to be banned. So did SS, so did others. And just so everyone knows, when you defend someone who is sinning you yourself end up in the sin of scandal.

    I am seriously thinking many people here have neo-cath beliefs. Most of them are Sede's but even more stunning is some may be SSPXers.

    If I called up Bishop Williamson would he approve of Roscoe here on a forum that states it is for SSPXers?

    People are up in arms over the Fisheaters, "OH they tolerate massive sin and scandalize trads, Oh they are not really trads!" The same could be said of this forum right now, tolerating a mortal sinner such as Roscoe, who is a dogmatic Sirinite, "Oh but he CALLS himself a Catholic" So does Benedict XVI but I doubt most of the board would agree that he is deep down like a Catholic.

    Yet for some reason there is sympathy for Roscoe... interesting
