Could the above be considered a doctrine or a dogma of the Church?

  • It is not a defined dogma far as I know, but it is a doctrine of the Church that many are damned and only few are saved.
"But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God, rather than men." - Acts 5:29

The Highest Principle in the Church: "We are first of all under obedience to God, and only then under obedience to man" - Fr. Hesse

  • No, it's not a doctrine of the Church that most men are damned. It is the most probable opinion, but not a doctrine.
There is a lengthy article on this subject in the "Dictionnaire de théologie catholique".
