I am sorry.. But gladius veritatis calling our new Holy Father "a sack of &$it" and "an ass-wipe" does it for me. Archbishop Lefebvre had MUCH more to suffer than we do, and he did not stoop to that kind of behaviour!!! It's one thing to be strong... Another thing to be vulgar!!
At least respect the office if you do not respect the man. Matthew, I am so disappointed that this is allowed. But that kind of gutter name calling is the final straw for me. This is not a friendly Catholic environment. My friends that I have made here can continue to correspond with me at my email address.
Adieu.. And God bless. Hope to see you all at Home.
Love,
+michaela b.

Yes, that was disrespectful of Gladius. I don't think you should say things like that about anybody, even if you believe as he does, that they are an antipope.
-
I don't agree to the extent of calling Cathinfo an unfriendly environment, but I strongly agree about the vulgarity and ostentatious lack of respect in the posts in question. It is unedifying.
-
Gladius was right in his arguments, but I agree that he shouldn't have used vulgar language.
Unfortunately, it has become common behavior from GV since his original meltdown in 2011.
Sorry to see you go, michaela. I hope you change your mind.
God Bless.

Gladius comes on here once in a while, and you can usually smell him when he enters the forum!
He makes very good points, but cant seem to refrain from the filthy language. This has always been his problem.
Sorry Michaela, for any scandal he might have given you!

Why do you assume it's allowed, Michaela? Because it appeared on the forum?
You might have noticed that when you post something, it immediately appears on the forum. That means I'm not pre-emptively approving or moderating every post that appears. This isn't a blog.
Right now, the worst man on earth could sign up and post heaven-knows-what and there it would sit for all to read until someone notified me about it.
If any member wishes to leave he is always welcome to do so. I'm not going to try to cajole, force, or beg a member to stay.
That having been said, Gladius is not welcome to use such language on this forum. This is his warning.
I'm going to warn him in a more direct/personal manner as well.
Anyhow, the normal procedure for offensive posts is to report them to the moderator (me or MaterDominici). After several hours -- sometimes up to a day -- you can conclude that "he's not going to do anything about it" and go ahead and leave and do whatever else it is you feel you need to do.
I can't sit here at the keyboard all day. I have a family to take care of. I have to do paid work once in a while. I have to take care of my own personal needs, etc.
I was correcting Gladius just last night.

GV, I always appreciate your arguments and I look forward to your commentary, however
Sorry Michaela, for any scandal he might have given you!
it's good to be mindful of causing scandal to the innocent.

THE LAST STRAW!!
Hope you have read this Michaela. Come back!
That was the straw that broke Mi-chamela's back!

Way to go, Matthew!!!!!
Swearing is never cool, no matter what the circuмstances. And I agree "respect the office, not the man;" that is what we Americans have been trying to do for ever so long....
-
I utterly condemn obscene language.
But I actually upvoted GV for his bad language about Francis I.
The reason for that is because Francis I is so bad that Francis SHOULD be criticised in the most clear terms possible.

Come, do not rage so violently, good father; but if you have raved wildly enough, listen now, you pimp. You recall that you falsely complained above that the king has shown no passage in your whole book, even as an example, in which he said that you contradict yourself. You told this lie shortly before, although the king has demonstrated to you many examples of your inconsistency ….
But meanwhile, for as long as your reverend paternity will be determined to tell these shameless lies, others will be permitted, on behalf of his English majesty, to throw back into your paternity’s shitty mouth, truly the shit-pool of all shit, all the muck and shit which your damnable rottenness has vomited up, and to empty out all the sewers and privies onto your crown divested of the dignity of the priestly crown, against which no less than against the kingly crown you have determined to play the buffoon.
In your sense of fairness, honest reader, you will forgive me that the utterly filthy words of this scoundrel have forced me to answer such things, for which I should have begged your leave. Now I consider truer than truth that saying: ‘He who touches pitch will be wholly defiled by it’ (Sirach 13:1). For I am ashamed even of this necessity, that while I clean out the fellow’s shit-filled mouth I see my own fingers covered with shit.

Yes, even Saints have used that kind of language against Heresiarchs.
