This is a brief synopsis of today's sermon on The Last Judgement.

Our wonderful priest gave another outstanding sermon based on his use of analogies for which he has a great talent. He began his sermon with an example of the little caterpillar and the three stages it goes through to finally turn into a beautiful butterfly. Next, he talked about grubs and maggots which turn into flies: one beautiful the other ugly.

He said the Last Judgement will be much like that. He said "we crawl along in this world and have two choices, to take the path of the caterpillar and turn into a beautiful butterfly, or chose the opposite path, engrossed in the world and its pleasures and crawl along like maggots.

When we are judged and if we have been faithful, our bodies will be brilliant like the beautiful butterfly. However, if we have chosen a dark path we will appear before God as like the maggot and fly: full of all filth and ugliness. We have only two choices.

Some choose to be jealous by saying: look at others, they're good people; look at all the enjoyments they engage in. Why not us instead of all these rules?

Still, others, spend their lives doing works of Charity, leading lives of prayer and communion with God.

If you have struggled with your choices, turn to our Blessed Mother and seek to do the will of God so when you are judged you will be like the butterfly and not appear as maggots and flies.

This sermon was outstanding as are all his sermons. The man is a brilliant speaker and always uses analogies of this type woven into the fabric of the Gospel.
