The Ignore Button got off to a bad start here on CathInfo.
Raoul76 stated publicly that he decided to not use it -- as if no one should use it. WRONG! Maybe he can handle reading all the posts/posters on here, but he misses the point entirely.
CathInfo has too varied a membership for the average Catholic to get along with everyone. No one wants to subject themselves to temptations to anger, etc. So what do we end up with? A bunch of insignificant, obscure, fragmented message boards, each for a different age group, traditional group, position on the Church crisis, view of the world, etc.?
Or, how about this idea --
We all come together on one board -- let's call it "CathInfo" -- and have an ignore function, so the handful of people whose VIEWS you can't stand can be ignored. Then you can enjoy the companionship, news, advice, and discussions of the rest of the board -- all 99.9% of it!
If not, we'd be throwing out the baby (99.9%) with the bathwater (0.1% -- the posts by Mr. X)!
In summary, abstaining from the Ignore feature is NOT a mandatory act of virtue that everyone here must practice. It is perfectly acceptable to use the function, that's why I created it! And no one can criticize you for using it. It's a helpful tool to make this board more enjoyable for everyone.
