  • sadly, most Catholics in USA will be rapturist in their excitement over those "poor, downtrodden puritans that had to endure so many hardships to build this City on a Hill"...and catholic history goes un-taught

  • What a cause of embarrassment that would be to you to find that out Belloc!!!

If I was a descendant of the puritans, I wouldn't tell anyone.

Too bad you all couldn't enjoy a hunk of my pumpkin cheese cake that I make for Thanksgiving with homemade whipped cream for a topping (not for dieters!).

  • If my history is correct, England dumped these Puritans on the colonies when the monarchy was restored after Cromwell. The liberated fun and frolicks was too much for these God-fearing migrants and as a result America felt the benefit! Also, it must be a feather in one's cap to declare that one is decended from such hardy pioneering stock  ..... and not be a reject from the back streets of Naples or Limerick!   :o)

Then you must be a product of their fall from grace! You must keep it quiet as I am told when I reveal I am related to the captain on the Titanic! I kid you not.
